What kind of "serious shit"?
In my 20 years of being in the workplace, I've only ever formally quit once, and only because it was my first job and I was told that was what you were supposed to do. But then I quickly realized that informing your employer is completely unnecessary.
It is the employer's responsibility to make sure they hired enough people to cover any situation, so when I no longer want to work a job, I simply stop coming in. No two week notice, no phone call, no email. One day I work there, and the next day I don't. It's a simple and stress-free way to quit.
Like I said, been doing it this way for 20 years and there's never been any negative repercussions for living my life this way, so please: share your story with me. I'm genuinely curious.
