One of the funniest stories I've read.

Some football hard-men are all bluster, but not the Partick Thistle legend Chic Charnley, who holds the record for most red cards in Scottish football. In 1990 Partick were training at Ruchill Park in Glasgow, when a group of local youths abused them. Charnley responded with some verbals, and the youths ran off, only for two of them to return, one wielding a Samurai sword. Charnley charged them, chasing them through Maryhill, by some accounts brandishing a traffic cone.

This is why cricket is called the gentlemen's sport (ignore WG grace please)

True.

Part of me though, would love to see cricketers behaving like footballers sometimes. Berating the ref, hacking down opponents, collapsing face in hands, sliding on the knees after a wicket or a six. Comedy cricket.

The Shakib special.

I don't want anymore than what already exists. There is a fair bit of it all, it makes for better stories when its rare imo.

Yeah, agreed, I was only kidding really. Football will always be my game, but I do love a bit of cricket too, especially Test cricket.
