World News
A community for discussing events around the World
Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Looks to me like the guy turned and intentionally shot her completely unprovoked. I can't tell what was happening In front of her though if she was really in crossfire.
100% what happened. The uncropped video is plain as fucking day. He looks back and forth around the area and the second that she's turned and the camera looks around, he just fucking shoots her. Only way he could argue anything was thinking the camera was a gun. The giant bulky shoulder camera. If so, then dude doesn't deserve the ability to drive a CAR, never mind work in law enforcement.
He can't argue that because they had been standing there for a very long time doing the interview. They didn't turn a corner, and appear outa nowhere.
They moved slightly yo the left. And for a cop, you should never move left. The over lord and technobaron don't allow that.
Dozens and dozens of journalists were shot this way during the first Trump regime after the George Floyd protests.
You dare show people unhappy at Dearest Leader?
And they voted him in again, it seems like a lot of people are real fuckin slow at realising you get what you vote for
So I'll tell you the real scary secret...
This is exactly what a lot of them voted for. This is exactly what a lot of them have been wanting.
Have a link?
Here you go.
Sorry about the delay...
"Delay"... 2h... Man, that isn't a delay, that's normal.
I not accusing any of you, I just hate that unrealistic expectation some have that a reply should be done in less than 10 minutes. 😅
I only said that because I was actively replying to other people lol
Thank you. No worries at all about the delay; didn't even check till now anyways.
