Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?

This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

Doomer [About the State of Hexbear When It Comes to POC]
I've been thinking on whether or not I should start limiting myself to c/em_poc and c/mutual_aid again, and I've been increasingly feeling like it's only right that I do so.Interacting with white leftist ignorance is just too much of a chore and a toll on my mental health that I currently do not need right now. Hexbear isn't immune to it. In fact, I feel like too many crackers on this site are blinded by the "I'm one of the good ones" mentality to a point that they'd never take a step back in their life to sit and wonder if there's any way they can stop being so fucking upsetting to their EMPOC comrades.
Like I said in this comment,, white Hexbears are not some heightened level of better or less performative than your typical white leftist you'll find anywhere else.
I've been being more and more diligent with the job search and even went about ways of thinking outside the box to see if I can have a more solid chance at landing a gig. Once I actually get a job in the capacity to care for myself, the pattern will stay the same: I will only use this site for c/em_poc and c/mutual_aid, but in this case, I hope I can start using the latter more as a donor than a recipient. Unfortunately, the trans clinic job did not accept me.
It's really sad for me to sit here and reflect on the fact that, though I'm a newish user, I've heard of many past incidences of EMPOC Hexbears leaving this site because of this shit. It's really depressing, but it's not shocking, and it's not like it's any bit reasonable for me to expect this site to ever get any better about it.
Im wondering how it would be received if one points out that possibly the biggest reason next to hell maybe bigger than class , America doesn't have healthcare, public spending etc that resembles even socdem levels is because of racism both anti black and towards the latino population with all the border fear mongering (asian folks as well). Hell race and class intertwined a lot because America been kind of a caste system for a while.
People like Frederick Ludwig Hoffman justified African Americans being charged higher insurance premiums with race science and he is very influential since then in the industry and the zeitgeist. His works were part of what was used to argue against a single healthcare system. Teddy Roosevelt at a critical time was promoting social healthcare and Hoffman stepped in to oppose it. The insurance company he work with were critical in what stopped the idea of single healthcare system proliferating.
Hell several insurance companies still charged higher insurance premiums blatantly for black people until 1984. Hell education system too zip codes and all that. These are just a few examples
Its no coincidence why chuds hell even libs point to racial homogeneity as a reason for why Japan china norway etc have better healthcare etc. It ain't no coincidence even lib politicians are subtle about the replacement theory with immigration. I ain't gonna say no class because class will always be a constant struggle but in a society with damn near caste system where race and class are treated almost the same down to material conditions for a long time there with a few exceptions its hard to ignore this shit.
I am 100% convinced that for the majority of the Hexbear user base, that if they started living in a Global South country they’d turn to a NATO-supporting liberal so fast. Simple class interests.

I think it was you (?) who in another thread pointed out the left is so unorganized and deeply unserious that it can't capitalize on justifiable adventurism and redirect it into material, systemic change. Conditions in Palestine and the Philippines are both worse, yet they managed to have leftists organizing armed resistance while Americans just kind of sit on our thumbs calling AES tankies/crazy/etc.
Bruh mandem said oh hamas and Hezbollah also have problematic views so comparable. Another famous poster went in on frauddogg for not supporting racist chit as critical support. So now critical support being used against poc that look sideways at some shit.
I am trying to find a different piece of work of Lenin that talks about the role the masses in not commenting the national affairs of countries that their nation-state is in imperialist war with but I can’t find it.
Regardless any Global South radical knows this, whether through explicit radical theory or through culture, of not interfering in other people’s affairs especially when you lack the knowledge or ability to affect it.
