Does that mean I can get a 3rd party eShop on my Nintendo Switch? π
I wish, but this seems specifically aimed at smartphones only. However, this could open the door for Nintendo to make their own eshop for Android or Apple, and I suspect that's what the gov is going for because it would directly benefit Japanese companies at the expense of foreign ones.
Why would Nintendo want a shop on Android and Apple? They don't own those platforms...
They do make games for phones though. I havenβt heard of any in a while but I remember some dust being kicked up about Mario coming to smartphones about a decade ago.
