Of course, China is on Russia's side, this has long been clear, they are waiting for their chance with Taiwan, 100%.
Ukrainians were very tolerant of the Russian language and culture even after 2014, even Poroshenko and Zelensky were both Russian-speaking (their main language was Russian), but after 2022, Ukrainian tolerance for the Russian language, Russians and Russian “culture” dropped drastically, which is not surprising.
Russia has been trying to turn us into Russians for centuries, they exterminated our ancestors, they forced their language through violence, occupation, and genocide, banned Ukrainian more than once or even twice, killed our writers and public figures, and so on. What's more, they are even now burning Ukrainian books in the occupied territories.
