Doesn't it have some kind of counter balance system so it recoils downward? Or do I have that backwards? I saw something about it years ago and it was indeed interesting.

Yeah the recoil goes down at a ~45° angle so you get weirdly little muzzle rise. It was uncanny.

I'm assuming you only got to fire it semi-auto. I've heard the two round burst on non-civilian models is extremely uncanny feeling.

2rb actually, at a place in Las Vegas. The guy next to me was literally firing a mini-gun.
