unironically watch the Orville, once it gets past a bit of its early obligatory Seth MacFarlane sneaking star trek past fox's radar via family guy humor it gets really good and is the best modern version of star trek
then if you like that and want more start watching The Trek
watch the first episode of TNG, then skip to season 2 and watch as much as you want
then watch DS9 it's p good, it takes place after season 3 of TNG
then if for some reason you want more star trek, watch the original series and then skip season 3 lmao
At this point you've gotten pretty much to the point where you can get the full enjoyment of watching lower decks, which is a pretty good Rick and Morty-like that does constant callbacks to star trek
then watch the star trek movies if you want some silly ups and downs, in general the rule of thumb is that every even numbered movie is decent, but honestly they're all enjoyable watches even if they aren't all good
then if you're getting a bit silly watch voyager, and then watch prodigy (imo it's better than voyager and p much acts as a sequel), and then you watch enterprise, and if you're feeling absolutely wacky wacked out jokerfied you start watching brave new world, and if you're getting clowntacular you start watching discovery and if you're six feet under the big circus tent you start watching picard
This is the best star trek watch order guide I've seen so far. If the age and show quality of TNG isn't a turn off, I think it's fine to go right into season 2 of TNG though (I personally couldn't get past the MacFarlane stuff).
