Do not choose pure linen as a replacement - wrinkles even worse. Poly blend would stand up to washing if required though, so could be a good choice.
Agreed, linen is lovely but wrinkles badly.
This fabric happened to be pure cotton because it’s the outer shell of a pillow I’m salvaging for parts. The ‘skin’ of it is being used in a practice run for a doll pattern I sketched onto a grid and the filling will be used to stuff the doll.
I bought a meter of calico because it was cheap but I really think fabrics with a bit of stretch would work better
