I have gotten rid of my Apple Watch and went back to a normal watch with a battery that lasts years. I'm getting sick of being connected everywhere I go and to be honest not having a device on my wrist the bings and beeps every 30 seconds with a message forcing me to look at it is a really nice change. I was going to go from my series 3 to an another non U.S. owned smart device, but have decided that I no longer need it. A simple watch that tells me the time is all I need. You can become more carbon neutral by not buying all this crap these corp conglomerates pump out every year.
I did the exact same thing after my Fossil Android watch battery could not hold a charge for more than 6 hours after having it for a few years. The batteries are not easily replaceable, if at all in smart watches. As far as I'm concerned, they are just manufactured e-waste.
I went with a Seiko Automatic style watch. I only need a watch to tell time and date.
