I watched the interview with him on The Rest is Politics today and I heard something interesting from him. They asked him to picture himself in 2028 as the PM of Canada and say what he sees around him. He said a few things and one of them was "I see we have full employment." I'm not going to explain at length what that means but it's a very specific economic term that is in contradiction with neoclassical/neoliberal economic thought and free market fundamentalism.

Carney is very much a Keynesian, so that's totally on brand for him. People hear the word "economist" and think we'd have Bain Capital as PM, but he's really quite left-wing.

I see it's an hour long, is it worth the watch?

If you haven't seen many interviews with him, I think so. If you've watched other interviews, perhaps less so. In general if you're interested, give it a look, bail if bored or keep hearing things you know. For me this bit I mentioned was the only surprising thing I heard and it came all the way at the end.

I haven't so I threw it on in the background, it's been good to hear him talk. He seems pretty logical + sensible, doesn't dance around things like a politican.

Yeah. Also he gives an authentic impression which typically bodes well for electability.
