Ukraine isn't going to defeat Russia. Other countries will have to actually enter & fight in the war, and even then it could turn into something way worse. There needs to be a ceasefire & negotiations in good faith from both sides. Russia clearly is in the wrong here in so many ways, but it is still better to try to come to a peaceful resolution & determine what that might look like.

If Russia wins, they will we see the mass murder from Bucha all over Ukraine. Since Russias war goal is to conquer all of Ukraine, we are going to see that on a much larger scale. For Ukraine that means defeat means death and fighting means probable death, but a chance of making it out alive. So Ukraine will fight to the end with or without aid.

Russia is only going to negotiate, if it believes that victory is impossible, so making a deal is cheaper then continueing the fight. That is obvious, as Russia started the war itself. That is why sending aid is a good idea. If Russia believes that conquering all of Ukraine is too expensive, a deal becomes cheaper then continueing the war.

And you see that „good faith“ on putins side?

I don't know what will happen, but I know that a ceasefire & talks don't hurt.

ceasefire in this case absolutely hurts ukraine… russia has manufacturing capability and time allows them to replenish their supplies. time does nothing to help ukraine, unless their foreign allies are manufacturing arms for them in the same way russia will be

it’d be amazing to see an end to the war, but don’t kid yourself: a ceasefire gives russia an asymmetric advantage
