Whatever you think of the idea, he explicitly states he is not the only one saying this. So it’s fine to disagree but please be honest.

The title literally says it's a secret. If he's not the only one saying it, then it's not a secret, and the title is dishonest.

It is a secret in that the Dems don't openly acknowledge it. Something can be a secret and yet some people can be aware of it. If the majority of people know about it then it could be defined as an open secret.
