I quite purposefully started using Lemmy to further escape the necrotizing tendrils of modern social platforms. It's a shame that it feels like a flash in the pan, before they sink their teeth in. And what's more confusing is there seems to be a popular concensus to let them. From people who have seen what happens time and time again when big corporations assimilate and then pervert useful technology.
