I am a platformist, like the organisations in Anarkismo. I mostly want to discuss some politics but also computer shit, IT industry shit (ie. talk to other people in my industry, who are ideally more left wing than HN), and art + photography. TBH photography is mostly what I talk about online these days, but there isn't a big photography community anywhere on the threadiverse I think.
This sounds interesting to me, but @DivineChaos100@hexbear.net in particular has already posted about Anarkismo. Having another Anarkismo poster is great news!
Lots of IT folks, devs and otherwise here, myself included! We should really have a Hacker News emoji, because they're one of my favorite places to dunk on for their Neoliberal takes and general bazinga-brainedness. r/programmingcirclejerk also dunks on Hacker News frequently, but I don't visit reddit anymore after the API stuff, not to mention that r/PCJ seems to have shifted a bit rightwards over time, though maybe not permanently.
Maybe r/socialistprogrammers deserves a shoutout too (they were x-posted here sometimes before the API stuff), but !technology@hexbear.net, !technology@lemmygrad.ml, !technology@midwest.social, !technology@lemmy.fosshost.com, and !technology@lemmy.ml are much more active. !transprogrammer@lemmy.blahaj.zone has potential but is not active yet.
Indeed, photography is missing. We have !art@hexbear.net, but that does not really cut it. Request a photography community in !commrequest@hexbear.net?
