Write-ins are counted just like any other candidate on the ballot so long as the candidate is eligible for write-in. Stupid country stupid electoral process but that is the way it is.
depends on the race and state. NYC municipal elections count every write-in for example, and keep a public record of those results.
Yeah I think Shane Gillis got a write in or two in NYC last election.
I checked and Matt Christman got 1 vote in the last mayoral election, which is incredible considering he had moved to LA by that point.
A couple that shopped at the store I used to work at wrote me in after Bernie got ratfucked lol
