Well that's not good... I'll have to find some other way to keep my phone in sync...
Maybe proton drive's sync is finally good enough...
The proton drive app does not have a way to automatically sync a specific directory. It's so infuriating, because they already have this implemented for the pictures.
The app in general is a long way off being a reliable every day use app. So many missing features.
Been working fine for me for a couple years now
Just in case anyone thinks nextcloud is the solution, it isn't. Can't do two way sync at all on Android.
Narrator: it is not.
Syncthing-fork still seems to be under active development, at least for the time being
https://f-droid.org/packages/com.github.catfriend1.syncthingandroid/
I've been using Autosync for years with good results first with Drive and Dropbox and now Pcloud. Supports a lot of different cloud services though not Proton which is why I haven't started using that yet.
Autosync
Interesting, I'll have to check it out.
I wonder if you can set it up in termux?
pkg search syncthing
shows that it's packaged, version 1.28.0.Any experiences with running cron jobs in Termux? Is it reliable?
Yeah I'm in the he same boat has worked reliably for a long time for me. Backs up my folders when I get home.
Buy Huawei, no Google by design
If that's your takeaway, you're way off.
No, I don't care. If Google android wants to be dicks to consumers. Fuck em - I'll start buying Chinese os.
Vote with ur wallet
I'll vote with my wallet by not buying from companies with ties to the Chinese government, thank you very much.
So I would rather Google own your data, so they can actually reach you and screw you?
China can't do anything to you due to legal boundaries, - us gov which is in cahoots with big business can and will reach you and screw you
