Human rights workers and journalists go into conflict zones to document and protect civilians. It is a war crime to target them.
He was neither a human rights worker nor a journalist... he was just a stupid fucking American that got himself shot. Again, not news worthy.
He was a human rights worker.
He was literally there nonviolently observing and trying to prevent a war crime from taking place.
He was literally there as a protestor which he could have done from home and not been shot. Neither they nor you are helping the cause. I am sympathetic to the cause and this this stupid American is just a distraction from it.
No, they couldn't have done human rights work like documenting Israeli war crimes in the West Bank from home.
Quit mischaracterizing what he was doing. It makes both you and the movement look bad.
