Va, anem a posar-li una pega al @librewolf: no renderitza bé el terminal virtual de Digital Ocean.

A veure, ja sé que com a pega, és una mica meh, però és que si vaig dient que és guai així perquè sí, doncs tampoc mola, saps?

Missing Icons (kbin.run)
submitted 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) by DARbarian@kbin.run to c/librewolf@lemmy.ml

For a while now my Librewolf installation has been very weird with icons, converting them to little rectangles with what looks like UTF codes in them. On Piped for example, instead of the play icon it shows the literal word "play". Anybody know what may be causing this and/or how to fix it?

Hello, I have downloaded and installed Librefox (126.0.1-1) on MX Linux 23.2 minimal, with the commands from here: https://librewolf.net/installation/debian/

Although according to the policies.json it should install uBlock Origin, Librewolf didn't.

I can see on the Librewolf website that the preinstalled version is a custom version. Which settings should I activate in the default uBlock Origin to match it 100% to the customized version? Thanks!

I thought Mozilla was the one behind ECH. How is it enabled in Chrome, Edge, and Opera and not in Librewolf, let alone Firefox?

Is this a false negative from https://privacytests.org?

I'm annoyed by the fact that using LibreWolf means that I lose on system theming and incorrect date and time on chat app.

DarkReader is unreliable, slows down performance of the page, and messes up theming. This is hurting my productivity. Any way to by-pass these two information?

Hello guys! I have done a fresh install of Arch Linux with KDE. The first thing to do was downloading Librewolf but there is an issue. I used an installation way that is without an AUR helper. And the package named librewolf-bin. System updated, git command executed, changed directory to librewolf-bin, executed the makepkg -si. But it couldn't verify PGP signatures.

Hittills har det gått väldigt smidigt.

Can't download Librewolf in Arch Linux + KDE Plasma 6

I'm trying to download it from AUR but it gives me error about gpg and closed DNS. Can't import the keys.

I believe the settings to disable this on Librewolf are set by default...

I am not able to download any files. It doesn't show an error or anything, it just doesn't download.

This only happens on XFCE but, for some reason, it does work on KDE.

I've already tried downloading files in Firefox and it also worked, so it's probably something with Librewolf.

I am using Arch (btw) and the Flathub version, if that helps

Edit: Unfortunately It seems that I won't be able to fix it so I'll just stay with KDE, and if I ever need to download something from XFCE I'll use Firefox ig, thanks everyone for the help tho :)

I remember there was a discussion in the old GitLab repo about Librewolf not supporting Google Docs shortcut (e.g: Ctrl+Z).

Anyone has the about:config fix for that?

I know that the dark mode setting is disabled by Resist Fingerprinting. I am not using that, I am using the Dark Reader extension. The extension still doesn't work, but it works on Firefox.

Other extensions I have installed: Ublock Origin, Decentraleyes, Skip Redirect, Onetab, Old Reddit Redirect

Librewolf version: 124.0.1-1

Decided to test some browser fingerprinting this morning via the Cover Your Tracks tool by @eff. @brave, @librewolf, and (no surprise) @torproject all performed (or appeard to perform) better than @mullvadnet.

Giving @librewolf a try. I like the idea of a browser specifically hardened against browser fingerprinting and tracking. Runs all of my existing Firefox plugins with no problems

I am forced to use JShelter to block myself from fingerprinting. Or am I doing something wrong? I've not messed up the defaults in any shape or form.

I’m trying @librewolf browser and it might seem like a small thing to you all, but they went out of their way to preserve accessibility features for disabled users like myself, whereas other privacy solutions remove accessibility features completely, and their efforts to make sure disabled users have a private focused but accessible browser is more welcome than you can imagine because disabled people need privacy as well. I would argue that disabled people need privacy more. I wish more #privacy advocates took accessibility and disability into account the way they have currently. I hope this remains a core mission of theirs

I was monitoring my network traffic when I noticed that Librewolf was constantly connected to the IP 34.107.243.93.

A quick search made me find this post https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1364193 on the Mozilla Support Forum, according to which Firefox is constantly connected to the IP 34.107.221.82 to check for an internet connection, so I assumed that this connection had a similar purpose.

The problem I have with that is, that dig -x 34.107.243.93 returns 93.243.107.34.bc.googleusercontent.com. As I didn't like the idea of my computer being connected to a google service whenever I use Librewolf, I tried deactivating the connection or at least changing the IP, but I couldn't find a feature for this in neither the settings nor the about:config.

I tried blocking the IP with UFW, but the the connection still exists even after restarting the browser or rebooting. I have three questions:

A: Am I correct in the assumption that this connection exists to check for an internet connection or is something else going on here?

B: Is there a way to deactivate this "feature" or at least change the IP to that of a more privacy respecting party?

C: How can the connection persist after I blocked it in my firewall? I haven't tried blocking it in my router yet, but I find this really creepy.

I've enjoyed using Librewolf for almost 3 years now but this is really bugging me.

I'm thanking you in advance any replies and advice.

EDIT: Accidentally wrote "browser" instead of router in question C.

I sometimes need to test if a website I develop is working correctly in dark mode, but dark/light mode buttons doesn't work in LibreWolf devtools. Is there a solution for this?

Hi, How can I get Librewolf take the window focus when I click an URL in another app (said otherwise, to open in the foreground)? I am using an arch-based distro in a Plasma 6 Wayland session, and I know this functionality is implemented for Firefox (it works when switching the default browser), but I do not find the right setting. Thanks!

#Google a annoncé qu'à partir de juin 2024, #Chrome ne prendra plus en charge les bloqueurs de #publicité populaires tels que #uBlockOrigin.

La raison ?

La sécurité des utilisateurs comme principal motif ?

"Ben voyons" :KEKW: :KEKW: :KEKW:

Ceux qui choisissent de rester sur #Chrome devront donc s'adapter à un environnement #web qui sera criblé de #publicités.

Alternative il y a : #LibreWolf : @librewolf #Firefox : @firefox
