Uuuugh, god dammit. Thank you for sharing this. I hadn't heard yet. I figured he was likely lying about half-funding it anyway, but it's still disappointing. My dumb hungry ass got my hopes up a bit like an idiot lol

Absolutely. Thanks for spreading the word. I feel like not enough people know about it (or the real reasons for the shutdown, ugh.) I'm really worried about it. My family and I (disabled & unable to work) rely on them. I hope the shutdown crap gets figured out (in a decent way) and SNAP will be back soon, but I don't know... I don't know what I or countless other people will do. The food banks here are already overrun and can't keep up - that's before food stamps being cut off. 😬 I was already super struggling before this. I'm stressing!

I'm wondering the same thing! If you get an answer, would you mind letting me know, if it's not too much trouble? I've read a lot about it, but it still feels like I'm missing/not understanding most of it. That may just me a 'me & my crappy brain' issue, though.
I agree that it easily could be real! My cat does the same thing with used socks, drinking straws she steals from our drinks, (clean & unused) menstrual pads still in their packaging, those little bra padding inserts that go in camisoles and bathing suits, and, of course, toys. It's so fucking precious and I love it! I've found her secret stashes of them multiple times over the years, haha.
This may seem cheesy or pathetic, and I apologize for that, but I want to say: thank you for catching me off guard with your silly comment and giving me a badly-needed smile and laugh when I'm fucking miserable and in a lot of pain. It's been a while. Seriously, I appreciate it. You're a hoot :)
