For you, certainly look at Kobo.

PocketBook do some nice readers, Linux-based. "drag and drop" books in, Koreader works on it (reading app).

Low-fuss.

But look at Kobo first (and I'm a PocketBook owner!)

This looks interesting. It has volume button and tap zone navigation. Opml exports from Feeder have gone in okay too.

 

Paging rather than scrolling works really well on things like Boox, Bigme HiSense Pro and others. Are there any recommended apps for things like email, browsing (einkbro etc), Fediverse, RSS feeds etc etc that "page" rather than "scroll"?

That picture is not Doncaster, It's Devils Dyke in Sussex, UK. It is facing East toward Chanctonbury Ring (furtherest hill in the distance). Behind the photographer will be a pub and a carpark. Its a drive of about 230 miles between there and Doncaster. #justsaying
