Come on kid. You're still pretty young! I'm 58 and aside from the damn arthritis and multiple surgeries with my wrists and hands, I'm okay. Like @rm_dash_r_star@lemm.ee, mine would have also been a typewriter in that case. I love tech and try to keep up as best I can. I absolutely love music and try keep up and am always seeking new and undiscovered music in the genres that I love which spans so many genres.
For getting older, we just got to take care of ourselves as best we can. Eat not terribly, get a bit of exercise. Even if it's just taking care of the yard or walking the dog. Take your meds if you have them. Please do this part. I lost a really good friend at 52 because he didn't take his high blood pressure medication.
I watch Pluto TV once in a while. I think that's a good solution for people who don't have friends or family with a Plex-type media server.
they’ve fallen down to the likes of Roku.
What's the beef with Roku? I'm all in on Roku at home. I even got a new TV with Web OS or Tizen recently, I don't remember. I hated the OS and went out and bought a Roku Ultra LT for it. Have I just accepted or gotten used to the crap? Like the Netflix, Hulu, etc buttons on the remote or are there other problems?
Hey metal. I'm brand new to Lemmy and wanted to say what's up?! I'm 58 and an old school metalhead who was stuck in the 80s / early 90s for the longest time. Mostly the classic heavy metal and Thrash. Mercyful Fate, old Big 4 thrash, Judas Priest, old Maiden, (up to Powerslave), Coroner and a few more. I recently discovered that I like Black Metal and Blackened Thrash. I love Immortal and Goatwhore. I listened to Immortal for the first time less than a year ago. Aside from them, I'm liking Melechesh, Rotting Christ, Wormwith. Then Angelis Apatrida and Injector for some newer Thrash and a shitton more in between. Like others, I'm really all over the place with most genres. I'm always looking to continue expanding my music and metal horizons.
This is very cool! I bookmarked to read more later.
