Hello! It's still not very easy to talk about this artist. But I'm trying to share some of his work as a way to spark constructive conversations about it because I think it will be very worthwhile. In these first posts I've made, I've tried to condense a kind of summary, and here it is!

Otacílio Melgaço’s music is often described as “obscure,” not as an objection, but as an artistic trait that sets it apart in a frequently predictable landscape. This obscurity may stem from enigmatic lyrics, dense atmospheres, or unconventional arrangements that invite a more attentive and interpretive listening experience. Rather than revealing everything immediately, his work seems to hold layers, requiring time and sensitivity to be fully absorbed—and that is precisely where its value lies. This mysterious quality enriches the musical experience, turning each listen into a discovery, which is worthy of praise in a world where so much is made to be consumed quickly and forgotten just as fast. Here’s a link to one of his works, MEET THE HOMELESS https://melgacootacilio.bandcamp.com/album/meet-the-homeless-an-omiksextolment-to-the-residents-otac-lio-melga-o-duration-53-41 Below, the album cover! 0TwAkUMvsWL3hDA.jpg And I invite you to explore the community I created in honor of this artist, so we can delve deeper into this fabulous abyss.

Good morning everyone! It's been a great adventure to bring this artist's name to new places and have the chance to introduce him to many more people. At least that's what I set out to do because of my fascination with his creations. I've tried to condense a kind of summary in these first posts I've made, and here it is!

I've always loved jazz, and the more artists progressed, the more I followed them. So, a more libertarian jazz style has always caught my attention. But I'm not talking about what might sound like complete chaos; I think it's possible to use Free Jazz to blend sophisticated intelligence with an irrepressible intuition. I think that's the case here. I've tried to condense a kind of summary in these first posts I've made, and here it is!

What are the limits to inventiveness when it comes to jazz? I think there aren't any. But is there a difference between freedom and "anything goes"? I have no doubt. And I think that the more a great musician ventures beyond boundaries, the more we will realize how freedom is the sum of all that musician's experiences. Their training, their mentality, their way of relating to other people, their ethics, etc. And I would like to talk about Otacílio Melgaço. I tried to condense, in these first posts I've made, a kind of summary, and here it is!

I really admire Bandcamp because I think it's fertile ground for combining diversity and quality. And I browse there a lot. But there's one artist, with an unbelievable number of creations, who completely captivated me. I think his page there is really like a labyrinth. He himself has given an interview where he mentions this, if I remember correctly. And I love getting lost there. Because I've found myself there a lot. I tried to condense, in these first posts I've made, a kind of summary, and here it is!

Obscurity is a beautiful word! Because it's dangerous. Because it's inviting! And what would life be without taking risks? What is too clear ends up being too obvious. What is too explicit can end up being ephemeral over time. So, for me, obscure music is like a synonym! And then an artist emerged who captivated me in this sense. I tried to condense, in these first posts I've made, a kind of summary, and here it is!
