Well said. At this point there's so much pre-existing content on Reddit that I rarely feel the desire to post or comment anymore. These days an upvote or downvote is usually the extent of my interactions over there.
Being part of this early, and relatively small, userbase on Lemmy means the content has to (gets to?) come from us. Instead of just scrolling through content we get to share interesting things and help build communities, and I find that rather exciting!

Oh I've been curious about mechanical pencils with rotating lead! The rotation mechanism activates whenever you lift the tip up off the page right? Do you think it would still benefit folks who mostly write in cursive?
Seconding Pop Shell. Very simple install via Gnome extension and it works wonderfully on my daily driver Ubuntu install.
I did the same with my S2! It was such a great ROM. I'm still blown away by how responsive it feels whenever I get nostalgic and dig the old guy out of storage.
