"A police spokesperson said Friday that investigators believe they have arrested everyone who is involved and are not looking into Soldiers of Christ any further."

Not sure which prewritten response to choose from... Do I make a joke about how if we defund the police, there won't be any police around to decline to investigate possible human trafficking rings? Or do I make one about QAnon ignoring yet another case of human trafficking coming from there own bizarre christofascist orbit?

Anita Earls is mixed, and that was incredibly easy to find out on Google.

We had sustained national protests for months just a few years ago. The problem isn't that we're placid, but that the barriers we face to organizing mass movements are close to insurmountable and there's no available and responsive avenue to successfully lobby for change in our so-called democracy.

It's the state and all of its carceral powers against a politically uneducated population that's one arrest away from getting fired and then one missed paycheck away from homelessness, or one injury at the hands of a too-excited cop away from medical bankruptcy.

Friendly reminder that we imprison people at the same rate as the USSR did at the height of the Gulag system. Behind all the euphemisms, we're living under the boot of a grotesque police state.

Just expropriate vacant houses and Airbnbs. It's not hard.

Americans are so propogandized, you can offer a conservative free endless clean energy from the actual, already-existing sun and they'll say no. It's embarrassingly pathetic.

Edited! Thank you for the correction. I was clearly too tired when I posted.

It's already happened in Utah, were Bibles were temporarily banned in school libraries until ~~courts~~ the school board invented an exception to return them. These laws were never designed to be honesty and neutrally applied, and it's a grave mistake to assume otherwise.

If you have to go back to the 50s to disprove the notion that there are no good conservatives, I feel like that's a pretty good indication that there are no good conservatives.

The legislation also bans the sale, transfer or import of gun magazines with more than 10 rounds unless they are owned by law enforcement or a military member or were owned before the measure’s passage.

Exempting the police from gun control laws and giving them control over the permit process isn't gun control. It's just funneling arms away from the vulnerable communities that need means of self defense (and are the ones usually on the receiving end of disproportionate state violence) and giving them to the communities that oppress them.
