Verizon no longer owns either company listed under it. Sold huffpo in 2020 and yahoo in 2021. Idk about the rest of the list but it's a little out of date.

Not what you're asking but since it's been covered well:

Buy your own cable modem and put your own firewall behind it. Not only will this save you money in the long run, you'll also have no issues with things like port forwarding. I use Comcast/Xfinity with a docsis3.1 cable modem + a decent firewall and it's a good way to go.

Paperless-ngx installed via docker-compose is super easy. I have it on a luks-encrypted vm only accessible via tailscale.

Thank you, very helpful! And also thanks for putting this info on lemmy :) I figured asking the question here was a good way to get some of that insight here.

The oem L1 charger that came with my ioniq 5 can be dialed back to 6amps.

Came here say this. Absolutely agree. Being able to reduce background noise is huge.

As a side point - having a car that's quiet has really allowed me to enjoy music at a much more reasonable level when driving as well.

You're not wrong in spirit but yeah... they're battery operated.

He's just kind of a jerk. Was honestly not all that surprising. I wouldn't want to work for him... Also I'd never want to trust the reviews or opinions of someone who can't take criticism well.

It's probably not for marketing emails. They probably require login to disable account alerts. Imagine a threat actor gets access to your account, turns off transaction alerts so you aren't notified, then transfers out all your crypto.

I'm certain the marketing emails don't require login to unsubscribe.

Not really. I disable camera access to most apps on my phone and in general I trust that. Never felt the need for a physical shutter.

I think if I was in an environment where I used my devices within eyeshot of others frequently I'd probably think about a privacy screen protector, but I typically have private places I can use my phone for sensitive things so I just try to be cognizant of my surroundings to prevent shoulder surfing

All depends on the threats you're concerned about I guess

If you think about it the fact that modern English uses "Have" in this context (primarily describing something you own) is actually weirder than "Am" (something you are)
