Gotcha guy is annoying, but not wrong. Folks hate having their hypocrisy pointed out.

Person A: "Smoking is associated with chronic health disorders. You shouldn't smoke."

The hypocrisy fallacy, also known as the tu quoque fallacy, occurs when someone discredits an argument by pointing out the opponent's inconsistent behavior instead of addressing the argument itself.
