I tend to avoid Flatpaks if the package is directly available in official Repos or even in an unofficial repo. If I have to download it from the AUR then I will check if a Flatpak version exists or not and install it from there.

Does this mean I won't need the multilib Arch repo anymore? Or at-least after it has matured enough to not need 32bit stuff?

Alright I got somewhere. It's the DNS. Specifically my Adguard Home setup. By default it uses rate limiting of 20 requests per client. I removed it. And now Firefox is loading as fast as Brave was loading it previously.

Although websites on Brave are still loading much faster, Firefox is now pretty usable. A few hundred ms difference is fine for me. The slowdown started happening since Firefox 150ish so probably something changed then that affected Firefox but Chromium based browsers worked fine. IDK what but for now removing rate limiting works for me. Hopefully my router won't crash because of this. Thanks for the help. Also if I use Firefox DoH with custom Controld endpoint, everything loads at lightening speed. But I can't use it as there are DNS rewrites in my Adguard Home which allows me to access my services w/o typing the IP all the time.

accounts.google.com is probably for login with google box. If you disable the ad blocker, it tells you to login with google in the right corner.

Sorry I was out for a vacation. Here you go.

This is firefox

This is Brave origin.

Even though some things do load after 5s in brave as well, a website is instantly usable on Brave while Firefox takes the whole time to load it. The Firefox install above is a fresh one with just uBlock Origin. On Brave I have set it up to clear cache and browsing history on exit so nothing is being loaded from cache. No login used for the website tested in both browsers. On reddit as well usually, it takes Firefox around 12s to actually for it to be usable. While for Brave it is usually around 8s.

My use-case for browsers is just searching stuff, opening a website, reading stuff—the basics. Even on desktop the only extensions I use other than ad-blockers are Bitwarden, Sponsor Block and Return YT dislikes.

I tried literally everything (troubleshooting mode, uninstall all extensions, use the default state on a new profile, use the default state on a fresh install, use arkenfox user.js, etc) before installing brave origin. Even tried Librewolf. But seems like a Gecko issue for me. I was later told to diagnose what is slowing it down using the network tab but I had already switched by then and didn't want to troubleshoot anymore when Brave Origin works flawlessly for me.

Also on Android I don't need any plugins other than an ad-blocker which brave has built in. Only downside to Brave is that I have to turn off their Crypto bullshit. So yeah brave ticks all the boxes for me currently.

Agreed and upvoted but the browser is good. It works better than pretty much anything out there especially on android. Firefox for me is getting slower on desktop for some reason. Websites take a lot of time to load.
