- Public Myth is near my office and is manufacturing athletic and leisure clothing in East Van and Richmond, with a focus on sustainable materials. Most of their stuff is not really my style but I did pick up a nice bamboo t-shirt for $29 and I like it a lot.
- Earth’s Own Barista Oat Milk is my new milk for coffee and cappuccinos. I used to buy Oatly but Earth’s Own is made in Burnaby and always on sale at London Drugs.
- Murdock Mysteries is a show I’ve been enjoying on CBC Gem. Slightly goofy period drama with elements of steampunk, anachronistic technology. It reminds me of Doctor Who a bit.
- Still Standing also on Gem, where comedian Jonny Harris goes to a small town for 4 days interviewing locals, culminating in a standup routine about the town. Super well done, great way to “visit” these towns and also pretty fun to watch one about a town you already know. There are 10 seasons of this show!
- Men I Trust montreal-based band released a great new album last week. Play it or buy it on bandcamp so they actually see some of the money.
- RobotShop.ca is a Canada-based website for hobby electronics, sensors, drones, IoT, kits, screens, devboards, components, etc, etc. Basically a Canadian version of Adafruit or Sparkfun. I’ve purchased from them about 6 times now.
