woah that's so cool, so the expanding steam is making a barrier across the surface of the skin!?!?

if you shot a durian at the sun, how close could it get before burning up?

would it form a tiny atmosphere with microscopic weather patterns and have a comets tail of steam?

currently rewatching the show firefly rn, but after i will start The expanse. ive seen other mentions of it around here on lemmy, and they always avoid revealing spoilers so i will too.

so this is just a general question shooting off of your edit: i wonder what a baby born and grown in higher-than-earth g's would be like?

i think you have a narrow view of what education is. this is subjective but my view of education is that it's an emergent property; as long as there's different individuals that know different skills, natural networks will form of people teaching to anyone that wants to learn.

whether it's institutions with professors teaching about quantum physics and brain surgery, to herds of dinosaurs teaching groups of young their migration paths and dangers to avoid; it's all within my personal concept of what education is

nothing is futile, convince other voters that the MP isn't listening and shouldn't be your representative anymore. if your mind is set for giving up on government action, then support third party organizations that build ev chargers and teach people how to run and maintain them and stuff. i agree that we need more accountability for elected officials, but to get electoral reform you still need your MP to vote for it. i don't think it's good to completely give up on participating as a citizen within a state, though we still need some direct action as a form of direct democracy outside of established structures and systems

how far into the future is this set? is it possible medical science gets advanced enough to surgically implant a robot skeleton that can repair itself and grow with the person? if these belters make a universal healthcare system, they could have free cybernetic surgeries for masses of belters able to withstand surface gravity of planets. should i just watch it, is the expanse a good show?

wait so if data is like dna, does that make computers like plants with their pollen being data packets like memes, articles, and videos... and we're the pollinators?

cool i learned that the moon is gay and hollow, and that a lunar restaurant would hold a captive customer base

[–] loldog191@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

the base needs a greenhouse to grow moon marijuana

i like the part with the mood lights and falling confetti

we need our top food scientists on this pronto

k im like really high but are there more realistic ways of steering our history towards international cooperation to create a moon base with scientists from around the world, like a lunar ISS but that welcomes all nationalities. imagine the combined efforts of the american and chinese space administrations working together; scientists from japan to iran, india to south america, coordinating. i also think there should be more space laws, cuz our low earth orbit is getting trashed. maybe lasers could be used to form junkyard rings around our planet.

but i know that it's inevitable that no matter what laws there are, tourist traps and a mall will be built by neil armstrong's footprints. but i want that future where people can get an overpriced t-shirt saying something corny like "The Eagle Has Landed" with a greenscreened photo of themselves standing beside the lunar module.

anyways like, how would lyrics to a world peace song go?
