So if what you said is true, then it's going to be really hard for federated social media to get mass adoption.

Cursive handwriting is actually the standard in Brazil (and I guess a lot of other places), so here you would be the odd one out.

Besides, I don't think we should have a black and white mentality here. Yes, we shouldn't use privacy-invasive Google software, but if they make an ethical software/hardware, why shouldn't we support it? It's actually a nice way to tell Google that there're ways to make money by making ethical products, like the Pixel phones.

Fairphone has actually managed to reverse engineer some of the drivers

Isn't that illegal?

To be honest I don't know, "estadunidense" is not as used as "americano", but I do think you're right. People who use "estadunidense" tend to be more anti-US.

What? He just praised one good thing about Trump's administration (the antitrust DOJ pick) and now he's pro-MAGA and a Trump bootlicker? Did you guys even read the article conclusion? "However, being disillusioned with one party on one issue doesn’t mean that all of a sudden Andy Yen changed all of his stances and that now he’s actually pro-Republican or pro-MAGA. All of the evidence gathered suggests the exact opposite."

I think this blog post sums it all, but it was written in 2024, so some of its information may be dated: https://d-shoot.net/kagi.html

Could you elaborate? Isn't the fact that it's owned by a non-profit foundation an obstacle to enshittification? Do you assume the same will happen to services like Signal too?

When they aren’t imperialist bootlickers.

That's not an ABSOLUTE true if you're talking about Brazil. Yes, some people prefer to use the term "estadunidenses" over "americanos" for political reasons, but I've seen some people on the far left using the term "americanos" too. The problem is that "estadunidense" is a long word, even if it has just one additional syllable compared to "americanos". Most Portugese words has 2-3 syllables and people tend to stick with shorter words.

I read a translation of Crime and Punishment which I think was made by an AI. There were a lot of weird structured sentences. Besides, the translation kept missing the characters' genders. Like, a female character was constantly mentioned by male pronouns and so on.
