I've also been thinking about this. One of the absolute biggest things that has caused us to get into this situation is everyone having some degree of bad risk assessment, with most having it really bad. Like most people have some real main character syndrome. I wonder if this is a consequence of so much privilege compared to the vast, vast majority of humanity that have lived so far. I have wondered if it's something that's always been inherent to our psyche and it's just been exacerbated by things in modern society? I dunno I'm no psychologist, I'm just rambling on the internet

Edit: Also I'm not saying this is across the whole world, when I say "most" I mean "most in affluent countries." Obviously there's many in the world who have good risk assessment from just having to for survival

I've always liked "golf and all the problems that come with it only exists because cishet men are scared to ask each other if they want to go for a walk".

Oh really? Do you have any examples maybe? I'd genuinely like to know as I usually go to them to quickly look at how polls are doing sometimes

How will you be able to look out over your property and see how much land you have and feel better than others for it, if you don't destroy the biodiversity on it?

If only we had a party in power that was on the side of the labour movement. That being such a central thing they have it as their name. Oh well.

Yep plenty of people use it for sleep, myself included. And I don't have a lot of knowledge on the physical effects of weed (so still do your own research, don't take a random internet persons words as fact) but as the sleep quality thing goes, I think you are right in that. But I also think it depends on the person. Like for instance you may get worse sleep quality sure, but might find it hard to sleep at all. If the weed does get you to sleep but with not as good quality, then that's better than no/only a little sleep right? Also with tolerance most people don't get the increase in heart rate as much. ROA is a factor too, like you'd be better off taking than edible than having a smoke to get to sleep and stay asleep.

Different terpenes have different effects though. People can use weed to stop themselves having seizures.

Used to love this song and listen to this band so much in my late teens/early 20s. I do remember with these lyrics wondering at that time if that's how it would go. Funny to get to my 30s now and be like, "yep, hard relate"

Had to ask seeing as there doesn't seem to be a community around it on Lemmy.

It's a kinda loose "genre", of course, but one of my favourites. When speculative fiction gets freaky it really does it for me. New weird, as they call it, especially.

Anyone who has no idea what I'm on about, take a look. I hope you enjoy.
