Not me but: “I was showing the new system to anons father. Have more luck teaching a rock how to float.”

Technology connections did a video on it. Basically the lights which lasted forever either; sucked at giving light and/or sucked at sucking power.

Light manufacturers got together and made a standard which was a sweet spot of power efficiency, longevity and light output. Unfortunately, being decent at all three meant no longer sucking at two to boost longevity.

They’re rebranding to Halo Studios and switching from an in-house engine to Unreal Engine for all future games.

Regarding how bad BattleState Games are; I changed my email address a while back and because I have no access to the old address I cannot update my BSG account to the new address. I’ve spent months in contact with BSG and supplied them with everything short of a DNA sample but they will not update the address.

I can still access the account, but not the game, and there is no way to update the address without going through BSG support. I’ve also spoken out on their forums amongst others with the same issue with no response from BSG.

I bought 2 Edge of Darkness editions (one for my ex-partner) and yet I cannot play the game at all. Fuck BSG, good game, dogshit company.

Took a little bit of searching before I discovered Japanese Breakfast is a band and “breakfast concert”’s aren’t some sort of niche 7:00am booking.

Looks like cycle count, manufacture date and first use date are all new. I wonder if the information will be accurate for aftermarket batteries?

Or the new one: “rightsizing”

I have accounts on two instances and couldn’t figure out why the feed was semi-broken and running out of posts on one. Since then the second instance posted about updating to 19.0 from 18.5, after the update I’m having the same issues as I did with the first server. I’m assuming they made the shift to 19.0 earlier. Seems to work in the respective PWA’s, but not in Mlem.

I’ve logged out and back in with the first affected account without any change and cleared the app cache.

Maybe less investment in trying to monopolise the market and more investment in developing their shopping platform so it’s not a smouldering turd.

I recently updated to a 15PM from a 12PM and as such am new to always on display (AoD). I’ve found that the first touch after waking from AoD on the Lock Screen registers at first and then is ignored/reversed. Is this normal behaviour that’s seen in all AoD iPhones or something related to my specific phone?

Edit: so I think I’ve found part of the issue. As the screen wakes there’s a short transition animation, if I wait for that to complete plus 1 second or so then it works as intended. If I interact mid-animation then it’ll either not register the input or cancel the input at the end of the animation.

I’ve found the touchscreen sometimes doesn’t register, especially the backspace button on the keyboard for some reason.

I’m considering putting in a report to Apple but don’t want to until I know whether it’s just me or a broader phenomenon.

My grandfather used to run a fauna park with kookaburras. We had a meat grinder, like what’s used to make filling for pies and pasties, which was used to grind up baby chickens and mice into a paste for the kookaburras.

They also had a meat grind to use for pies and pasties so I hope they never mixed the two.

Reminds me of the joke I heard from the TV series Chernobyl. From memory:

Q: What weighs 2 tons, emits lots of smoke and noise and cuts apples into 3 pieces?

A: A Soviet machine designed to cut apples into 4 pieces.

After updating to V1.1 the grey fill on the vote indicator on compact comments stopped working.

It highlights a bit of an issue that I’ve had since switching to Mlem; I’d love if that upvote icon fill was colour coded the same as an up/downvote. Previously it was just grey which is ok but having it colour coded would visually function better imo.

This is on an iPhone 15PM iOS 17.0.3.

Yes officer, I’d like to charge this phone with battery.

SimpleLogin (aussie.zone)

Hi Lemmings, Has anyone here self hosted a SimpleLogin instance? Would you recommend it compared to paying for their service?

I’m looking at starting a test instance of it in the future but I’m curious how well it handles multiple user accounts and multiple domains or whether I need an instance per-user or per-domain.

Is this new? Will delete if not. I recall having to go into the settings app to check on progress.
