I already disliked NBC when they bought the platform Breaking News and shut it down in 2016. That platform literally helped expose me to headlines I would never have seen otherwise.

Wow, that song had more references to drugs than what a upper class person probably thinks is written about in stereotypical hip-hop song.

I was actually part of the Red Ribbon era. D.A.R.E. was being phased out when I started elementary school.

I grew up on TNG but I was not old enough to understand it (I was 5 when I saw First Contact). As I rewatch season 1, I notice things that are heartwarming like Deanna having a conversation about confidence with Geordi or Data’s instant infatuation with Sherlock Holmes.

Okay now I’m confused. I thought you brought up “Up the Long Ladder” as an example of a different alien race which took something without consent. I thought the issue boiled down to how the Federation felt about genetic modification. I haven’t seen that one in a long time.

@Kolanaki@pawb.social was referring to the Mariposans from “Up the Long Ladder”.

The problem was the Federation’s stance on genetic manipulation.

I don’t know if all their songs are parodies, but a majority of these songs are. They are fun to watch. When they are on stage, they sometimes play other covers including “I’m Ready”.

The above photos are for reference. These are the image and recipe from The Star Trek Cookbook by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel. My soup was pretty messy. The immersion blender I meant to use was missing, so I resorted to a regular blender. 😅 Not going to do this again without one. The bread isn’t as green as I expected because I didn’t twist it enough. It seemed to me the filling of pesto was too much, making the dough too fragile. At least I tried.

If you are unable to read the text, I’m sure you are wondering who the Norellian are. They come from the DS9 novel “The Big Game”.
