I think this is a horrible argument. The dude should be punished under the law for the crimes HE has committed. Other people shouldn't play a role in the judgement, as reprehensible as his actions were.

Other than that, very good read, but as always, it won't reach the people that really should read it.

Does anybody know whether they're planning to use all these convictions against trump supporters in the trial against trump? I bet there are a lot of testimonies stating that they wouldn't have done xyz if Trump hadn't riled them up.

Eben genau das ist ja meine Frage. Reicht es in dem Fall aus? Eigentlich wuerde ich denken ja, offenbar ja aber nicht.

Giuliani will also have to pay punitive damages; that amount will be determined by a jury trial. Howell instructed the jury to consider that Giuliani was “intentionally trying to hide relevant discovery about his financial assets for the purpose of artificially deflating his net worth” in determining punitive damages. 

I guess this will cost him a pretty penny then.

Howell denied Giuliani’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit in October 2022, and Giuliani had recently conceded in stipulations to the court that he had made false statements about the two women, though he said the concessions were intended to move the case forward and maintained his statements were constitutionally protected.  “While Giuliani does not admit to Plaintiffs’ allegations, he — for purposes of this litigation only — does not contest the factual allegations,” he said in a July 26 filing.

Rückgrat hin oder her. Fuer mich geht es hier darum aufzuklaeren ob der Typ ein Nazi und Antisemit ist. Aber ich sehe ein das die Prioritaeten in Bayern vermutlich andere sind.

Ich unterstelle mittlerweile einfach mal: Weil er sich davon gar nicht klar distanzieren moechte.

Ist natuerlich was dran mit den Jugendsuenden, hier kommt aber der feine Unterschied fuer mich.

Aiwanger hat durch seine Aussagen die letzten Monate und Jahre schon sehr an rechte Ideologie dran. Wenn dann jetzt so ein Flugblatt auftaucht, dann liegt die Vermutung nahe das da jemand Vize MP von Bayern ist, der immer noch einen Hang dazu hat.

Jemand der das aufrichtig bedauert und als schlimme Jugendsuende ansieht, der geht auch in der Aufarbeitung anders damit um. Oder ist dein Eindruck er bereut das wirklich sehr und macht alles dafuer um das aufzuklaeren und den Verdacht eines rechtsextremen aus dem Weg zu raeumen?

Kontext ist hier wichtig, ansonsten bin ich bei Dir. Was er mit 16 gemacht hat, sollte heute eigentlich keine Relevanz mehr haben. Es sei denn, es hat kein Umdenken stattgefunden.

Im Artikel ist jetzt allerdings die Rede davon, dass diese Anschuldigungen auch Teil der 25 Fragen an Aiwanger sind. Das Thema ist noch nicht erledigt wie mir scheint und wird fuer Soeder und die CSU vermutlich noch zu einem Riesenproblem werden. 6 Wochen vor der Wahl das Ganze; kann auch kein Zufall sein.

Hat mich tatsaechlich ueberrascht das Interview. Grade bei nem Rueckversicherer hatte ich eine viel duestere Perspektive auf den Klimawandel und die damit verbundenen Auswirkungen auf Versicherungen erwartet.

Wir sind aber natuerlich nicht so stark betroffen von Extremwetter und wir bauen relativ gut und sicher.
