I was burning a cone incense and left it on the sink, and this stain won't come off. I tried baking soda, water, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide. I tried letting them sit for multiple interations, and it made no difference.

I'm a long time AMD user both my GPU and CPU. I have a powerful enough PSU and a b550m-plus mobo.

I'm looking to do gaming, light AI work, computer programming, running Docker server services.

I have a Radeon 6900xt, but it doesn't work well with Linux anymore. amdgpu fails to load, and I can only boot by adding nomodeset to my boot entry.

With ArchInstall I even tried reformatting with xfs, ext4, btrfs, without encryption, with and without LVM, selecting both ATI OS drivers for all GPUs, and drivers for AMD gpus, with systemd-boot and grub.

Even Fedora on USB only boots with nomodeset.

Windows seems to boot fine.

I assume it may be a problem with system reading the drivers from the GPU.

I have onboard HDMI for graphics, but I've never got it working.

tbh, my 6900XT was too powerful anyways. I do game in 4K with my 55" TV on the highest settings, but it seems I was still barely using the GPUs full potential.

Funny enough, I seem to have had more problems with high end GPUs in the past than low end GPUs.

Is using ArchInstall an OK and recommended way to install Arch?

Also, last time I installed KDE, I got a huge amount of bloat software I didn't want. And searching for apps through the menu search would often unintentonal suggest apps I didn't want. And uninstalling these apps would not work sometimes as they were dependent on kde-full.

ArchLinux doesn't boot past the bootloader

I'm able to get to the BIOS on my desktop. But when greeted by the boot loader to choose between Arch or Arch fallback, after choosing, I lose display.

Sometimes I can get display, but its not consistent. Draining my computers power by unplugging the power cord and holding the power button works sometimes. Sometimes a simple reboot will work.

I have an Asus b550m-plus motherboard. It was working great with Arch until recently.

Edit: it uses by press e at the boot loader then putting nomodeset at the end, but the display is choppy compared to when its able to boot without it.

I'm using the systemd-boot loader.

I have a 6900xt GPU. The post I cross posted has more information in the comments. One common error I'm getting is:

probe with driver amdgpu failed with error -22

Edit: Installing linux-lts and directing my bootloader to it worked. I didn't even need to install linux.

I would love something that is touchscreen, slim, and comfortable to use. And fast enough to not experience lag to daily use like videos, video calls.

Also, for different another laptop, what would be good for gaming? Touchscreen or not wouldn't matter to me for this gaming laptop.
