That is my hometown Utrecht. It used to be a canal but was partially changed into roads in the 50s. Luckily it has now been changed back to a canal again. Was quite a project but it's an amazing improvement.

I first tried Centos because I knew it. Was horrible as a workstation.

I tried installing Mint but for reason the installer just did not work. A coworker (who was in Arch at the time) suggested I try Manjaro and have loved it even since.

It's also a cultural thing. Here manual transmission for fuel powered car cars is the most popular choice by far. People here sort of think that automatic is for people that can't drive or old people.
