I'm using Zencastr cos the free tier is the right price and I've found my way to evade most of the AI crap thankfully. "New recording" on the front page or in existing sessions seems to take you to the bit that actually does shit.

I just record with it, I grab the MOV and WAV files and I put it together from that and (after much faff) upload to YouTube and Libsyn. I shudder at the thought of Libsyn going AI, cos otherwise they just do a good job of hosting the mp3 files and running the RSS and I can get onto Apple without having to interact with Apple.

About us

We are a new AI advocacy organization launching publicly in late summer 2026. Our goal is to amplify everyday voices and build a broad-based movement capable of winning federal AI policy. We want policies that create an economy that works for everyone, not just Big AI; that defend our essential freedoms; and that prevent the development of AI systems that pose existential risks to humans and the planet.

For years the response to AI risk has been white papers and closed-door meetings

yep, it's our very good friends

lisp went big in the leadup to the AI winter, which followed a lot of fraudulent nonsense that even the DoD would only buy for so long

so in that sense it's in character

hence the weird "the AI escaped!!" instead of "we fucked it"

also annoyed to agree with Andrew Orlowski on anything, ever
