But your honor! My highly convenient claim makes it so that I MUST kill children. Surely you agree?!

The main worry here is that Bernie only seems to (openly) support 20 of the 100 total confirmed gecs. And that's not even beginning to factor in the purported existence of up to 10,000 gecs, as some researchers have claimed.

Hey, quick question that I'm too dumb to know the answer to and can't seem to find any info about anywhere.

I just got a 2.5" HDD and put it in the dedicated place in my Fractal Meshify C case. It's on the side, and there really isn't enough space for it - the drive is too thick for the panel to come back on normally. When I put the panel back on the case it pushes right up against the drive and the panel clearly isn't flush with the case.

Is this an issue? Or will the drive be fine?

Not putting shit away in public when they could easily do so with minor effort for someone's/everyone's benefit. Shopping carts, plates at a food court, trash, etc.

Oh wow you exposed my stupidity! Thank you so much.

Default sort (lemmy.world)

I don't know if it's happening to other people, but for me connect is defaulting to Top All sort whenever I open the app to my front page or when I view a community. I always change to top 6 hour, but it never stays that way after navigation.

Anyone else experiencing this?

There's been a bit of a global jpeg shortage lately since most jpegs are grown in the Mokri Yaly River Valley in Ukraine. I don't see how we could realistically expect full jpeg until 2025 at the earliest if I'm being honest

I'd say mine started with Buttercup

Love how quick you are to fix things and how far the app has come since I got it two weeks ago! Amazing. I'll make sure to throw you some support once payday rolls round!

That said, I don't love the way the comment icon has been lately. The button to post a comment and the one that takes you to the comment section of a post are too close to each other. It was perfect before it changed, right now it makes going to comments something that fails every two or three times which is kinda annoying.

Also, I've posted this before but my two main gripes are the way the back button takes you app the way back to the comments, instead of retracing your website steps, and the fact that when you return to the comments they've all reset so you have no idea where you were. I would love to see these fixed!

Now to round out the compliment sandwich: thanks so much for the link pop up that's now there and tells you where you're headed. So good.

Firstly, sorry if I'm making any mistakes in how I'm posting this. I love the app but there are two main issues that bug me and they both pertain to external links.

Let's say I followed a link to a Wikipedia article, and within that article clicked a link to a second article. If I then press the back button (on the android bottom bar), it takes me all the way back to the Lemmy comments, not to the previous article. It would be much better if it just took me to the previous page I was on.

Also, now that I have been returned to the comments, they are completely reset. It would be much nicer if my location in the comments were preserved, as well as all collapses, so I could seamlessly continue from where I left off.

Connect seems to be trending in the direction of RiF, it gets closer with every update. Love it.

Absolutely agree with you. It's in theory no different to a child learning from what they're exposed to in the world around them. But I guess the true desire from some would be to get royalty payments every time a brain made use of their "intellectual property" so I don't think this argument would necessarily convince.
