Please tell me you bought the hot dog too...
At least they didn't slap "AI Enhanced!" on it.
Yet.
For more inexpensive knives, see previous posts on the $5 and $6 axis lock folders from Walmart:
I've had the Finn Wolf on my list of "to buy" knives for a while now. I kept putting it off but I think no more. And yes, I think it will spend some time being used to baton some wood to make kindling for the fire pit.
Does the pocket clip sit exactly over the edge of the blade (in vertical space) such that you can't actually use the seatbelt cutter without the seatbelt running into the clip? (Maybe it's just the angle/shadow of the photo.)
I am not sure what it is about this design, but it makes me nervous looking at it. It's hard to even describe. It's just a general feeling of unease.
I have a bunch of Kershaw knives and I know the high quality they produce, so it's not a concern about this thing spontaneously disassembling itself or anything. It's...weird, which, for me, is good enough to make it a WKW offering regardless of the day you posted it. 😄
I would not have guessed that being in a knife community in the Lemmy-verse would cause me to start saving up for a 3D printer, but here we are.
Just this week I lost my Olight i3T! I'm really bummed. I had the brown/brass colored one and it was starting to wear in a very satisfying way. I know it was only $20 but I use low self-discharge NiHM batteries in my flashlights so that's gone too.
I like you're setup and it's cool you stitched the wallet yourself!
That's great. I didn't know they made that. Too bad it's not available anymore.
Is that a knifeless Skeletool?
I can't believe I forgot this as an option: The QSP Penguin! D2 steel, great action. Great value.
What sort of budget do you have? $50 $200 $600? I tend to live in the budget world when it comes to pocket knives and would recommend something like the Civivi Elementum II which has great utility, is not aggressive looking, and provides a ton of value for the money.
It is very easy to get overwhelmed with choices. I would say pick something from a reputable reseller, with a decent return policy, and pick something that your partner likes the look of. If you have the budget, buy a couple different ones to get a feel for what is and is not good in-hand and in-pocket.
