We lost because the Republican party is REALLY good at running fear-based disinformation campaigns and a lot of Americans are not very smart and easily influenced.

I disagree. I think they totally suck at it. I think the democrats just sucked worse. And many "on-the-fence" folks got tired of Democrats talking down to them and making fun of them just because they weren't 100 percent on board with every dem idea.

And in fact, many democrat strategist have said the same thing since the election and are asking that Democrats lose some of the ego and elitism in order to turn things around the next election. And i agree with them.

Lemmy sure hasn't learned from that mistake tho. I see many on Lemmy just outright making fun of anyone who didn't vote for Harris--even if they voted a third party.

I honestly think you all need to lose another election for you to learn your lesson.

I post good faith comments and expect a good faith response, you know a conversation.

But someone who posts an conservative article in a conservative community is under no obligation to have to discuss it. Many like it, post it, and move on.

If it’s an echo bunker of misinformation and lies that doesn’t welcome opposing opinions then just be honest about it

And from what I see on Lemmy, that perfectly describes Lemmy as a whole.

Also, as far as I know, there is no way to make a community private. I WISH there was though. Or if there is, please tell me how to do it.

I wasn't upset. I was merely pointing out that you have to be careful of assumptions on a platform like Lemmy that is so decentralized and focused on privacy.

I haven't been banned from anywhere under any username I've used. I just explained why I change usernames ever few months.. Where did I ever say or show that I've been banned?!

Tho I DO expect to get banned a result of this conversation thread! lol

Nope. I'll allow breitbart posts though. and you gotta promise not to remove posts unless they are literally saying nazi stuff. You can't just go, "wait, this isn't an anti-elon news article, so it's A NAZI POST!" and crazy shit like that.

I say we start a community, conservative-leaning (because there are already a shitton of liberal-leaning ones) and see what happens. I am fine having a non-conservative mod, so that we can hopefully overcome the whole "all the mods are nazi's accusations)

Should we start on a new instance or maybe see if we can take over the conservative@lemm.ee instance since it has no mods right now?

Well I am def not pressuring you. If you are fine with .world, stay there.

But to switch, you just go to any other community and sign up. So you would click on https://sh.itjust.works/, click sign up, pick your username. Once they verify your email, boom! You're on a new instance.

And for a summary of all the different instances you can join (think of them like servers, each with it's own flavor): https://join-lemmy.org/instances

Do you think the majority of Lemmy users would like conservative communties on Lemmy?

How about this: You create a new user name. Then you and I will create a new Conservative community on Lemmy and be co-mods. After a month, tell me what you think about the general attitude Lemmy has about people who start conservative communities.

You'll be called a Nazi even if you don't post or comment on a single post. lmao

DM me, and let's do it. It'll be fun!

And we need some more conservative points of view on lemmy anyway, right?

I haven't trolled and I haven't evaded any bans.

Lots of people have mulitple usernames on Lemmy. For me, it's to protect my privacy and information from being all in one place. As are many others on here.

In fact, in the privacy communities, they recommend purging your username and creating a new one every few months. And I agree with that. And I do. And I will continue to do so.

Feel freel to check out the privacy communities and ask their thoughts on that subject.
