It’s open source, there will be forks. I’m not worried at all.

Looking at their history they were always able to create markets for their GPUs and AI has been obviously incredible for them. There will be the next hot thing after AI and they’ll try to have that, too. The alternatives to CUDA are not there yet, ROCm is still lacking and fiddly. I see a lot of things happening but NVIDIA collapsing for whatever reason is not part of that.
Did you hear anything about translations? I’d also be down to help translate.
I’ve tried uv a week ago for the first time and liked the workflow. I hope there will be a fork that’s not under OpenAI.
I haven’t used Arch for quite a while but doesn’t it come with an install script now which makes the installation more automated? That should enable a lot more people to install Arch instead of e.g. Manjaro I suppose. I’m not an expert on Manjaro but are there any meaningful positives to pick Manjaro over Arch?
Does Zen allow for extensions (mainly asking for ublock origin and something comparable to the multi containers on Firefox)
Okay wait - I’ve used cURL for other stuff but can I just go and download e.g. from a file hosted using cURL and entering my credentials with -u?
Theres also the possibility to use a VPN and log in from Albania (I think) to avoid ads altogether because they’re not legal there.
Since edge is also based on chromium, I’m not sure how meaningful it would be to me. We need more engines so we do not end up with one engine dictating how things work in the internet.
