Yeah, I worded that badly. I meant from the pov of the user. If I want my posts deleted, how am I even supposed to know how many copies there are out there?although I do see your point regarding archives.
I got to be honest. I really don't care about the federation part of Beehaw and would be quite happy to see it move to a non-federated solution. I mean, how is it even possible to comply with the GDPR when using federation?
Would be a bit weird as they own GOG.
Showing it to devs/publishers I can understand. Why would they be showing it to press though?
I encountered this at work today. I just assumed I couldn't turn it off. Will def be looking for that setting tomorrow.
Tencent....
That's all I needed to know.
My backlog consists of games I've bought because I want to play them. But because there's always something on offer I end up buying more than I can get through. So this will be a way to stop myself spending money when I already have enough games to get me through to the end of this year. If I find I'm not enjoying one of them, I'll mark it "dnf" and hide it from my library. So I've absolutely no plan to play a game if it turns out to not be any fun.
Honestly, keeping half is pretty good.
Yeah, im going with this one. Even if it takes a company a total of 5 hours work to wrap an old game in an emulator and release it on steam, it's not going to be worth it when only 5 people buy it.
I just switched to only buying games on GoG. Yeah, i dont have the same selection and miss out on a lot of games, but there are enough quality games on GoG to fill my backlog.
You need to consider anything and everything you post to the Fediverse to be part of a public, everlasting record. At least in it's current state, the Fediverse is not the place for privacy oriented users.
I get people preferring one platform over another. What I don't understand is platform loyalty/tribalism. It makes no sense. Just enjoy your games!
