What is even the point of "piracy groups"? What exactly can you find there that you cannot in other places designed for that, e.g., trackers, usenet, forums...?

[–] Wistful@discuss.tchncs.de 12 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I can find it on Droidify no problem and after reading your comment, I also tried on F-droid app and I can see it there as well. Maybe you don't have it configured properly.

Seems like it.

So lemmy.world is still excluded from the list but the active users from it are counted in?

What stable diffusion has a retouch option on PC’s then?

I'm not a stable diffusion guru, but yeah, you can remove objects using inpaint feature. It definitely wouldn't be straight forward thing to do though, and probably not a great experience since web ui is not really good on the mobile devices, but I haven't used it in a while, maybe it got improved.

And that is extremely ironic mentioning request it in ImageToolbox I actually already have haven’t heard back yet though.

¯\(ツ)/¯ I couldn't have known you already did.

I'm afraid not. Only open source way of achieving that, that I can think of would be self hosting stable diffusion and using web ui on your phone. Which probably wouldn't be really easy nor convenient.

A long shot would be making a feature request for ImageToolbox to implement something like that.

So, there are 2 main places for shortcuts/actions: tracker actions and edge actions.

These are my tracker actions

I set it so it activates when I tap and hold the tracker, it shows up those shortcuts. If I slide my finger towards one of the shortcuts, it activates it.

These are my edge actions

These are actions/shortcuts that you trigger by pushing the cursor to the edge of the screen.

You can pick any app from your phone or any of the actions available in the app, there are a lot... Like system controls (volume, brightness control, media playback buttons, screen lock, screen rotation, etc.) and you can also make a shortcut for Tasker/MacroDroid/Automate action. So basically, you can make a shortcut for almost anything you can think of.

I partially know the answer to this question...You cannot host videos directly on Lemmy, but that is understandable, video hosting is pretty expensive, but Lemmy also doesn't support video embeds(videos don't play within Lemmy), which means that you will have to open the link in a new tab/window to watch it. Which is pretty annoying/inconvenient, and that is probably the main reason why video/gif posts are just not popular here. Even if someone does post it, users mostly can't be bothered to open it.

I've read somewhere that this is intentional and that is "privacy and security matter". But that kind of doesn't make sense to me. Alright, I understand how it can be a privacy concern, since the sites on which the videos are hosted can track you. But we switched from Reddit...Not really known for being privacy friendly... People that are concerned about their privacy will know what to do/not to do.

I'm not knowledgable enough to understand how it can be a security matter. I guess if the video is hosted on a malicious site...But wouldn't that be easily solved by simply allowing only trusted, well known sites?

Video is simply the most superior type of media there is, and I think that not having easy access to it on Lemmy is hurting it.

Are there any other reasons why we don't see video posts on Lemmy, and are there any plans to make videos more easily consumable on Lemmy?

Cymothoa exigua, or the tongue-eating louse, is a parasitic isopod that severs the blood vessels in a fish's tongue, causing the tongue to fall off. It then attaches itself to the remaining stub of tongue and the parasite itself effectively serves as the fish's new "tongue"

I find GunRun to be the most fun one, because the maps are usually smaller and it's faster pace. More action overall.

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure this is the right community for this, but I want to announce my new project: Infinity for Lemmy.

Basically, this is a fork of the Infinity for Reddit application, modified to get it to work with Lemmy.

But I must remind you to temper your expectations as this project is still in its infancy. It has some basic features already in place, but there’s a lot more to be accomplished.

What Infinity for Lemmy Can Currently Do:

• Browse posts • Handle multiple accounts • Upvote and downvote posts

What Infinity for Lemmy Cannot Do (Yet):

• Load comments • Handle subscriptions • Search for posts, users, or communities • Write posts or comments • Send private messages • And many more

So, while Infinity for Lemmy is in its current state not a feature-rich client, but it’s a promising start.

For those interested, here’s the link to my git repository: https://codeberg.org/Bazsalanszky/Infinity-For-Lemmy

I invite everyone to contribute in whatever capacity they can, whether it be through coding, reporting bugs, suggesting features, or even just providing feedback and insights. Let’s shape the future of Infinity for Lemmy together!

AOC vs Acer

These are the differences that I've noticed (if this site for comparing monitors is to be trusted, because official sites don't have super detailed specs):

AOC Acer
Brightness 300 cd/m² 250 cd/m²
Dynamic contrast 80.000.000 : 1 100.000.000 : 1
HDR / HDR10
Minimum response time (I assume GTG) 4 ms 2 ms
Whatever this other respons time is Response time - 1 ms (MPRT - Motion Picture Response Time) Response time - 1 ms (VRB - Virtual Response Boost)
Power consumption (average) 22W 25W
Connectivity 2 x HDMI 1.4, 1 x DisplayPort 1.2 ,1 x D-sub, 1 x 3.5 mm Audio In ,1 x 3.5 mm Audio Out 2 x HDMI 2.0, 1 x DisplayPort 1.2, 1 x 3.5 mm Audio Out

It also seems like Acer is 144Hz natively but it's overclockable to 165Hz, while AOC is natively 165Hz, but I'm not sure because it's not very clearly stated.

Acer is a bit pricier, but are those differences worth it?
How good is HDR? Is it worth it, or is it just whatever?
