Well stated, although “stupid” might be harsh. In the 80’s I watched in disbelief as a large housing development was constructed on a desert hillside that was known to locals as a flood zone. Within 5 years, a flood destroyed many of those new homes, to the surprise of nobody familiar with the area.
I can only guess that greed and corruption paved the way for the permits, and that the buyers were not informed of the location’s history.

As others have stated here, CS might be a good fit for you. I don’t have ADHD, but I’m neurodivergent, above average intelligence, and easily bored. I also know that, for me, work is absolutely shit. CS has allowed me to have an endless array of related skills to veer off into side quests, projects, whatever you want to call them. It keeps me from stagnating and the pay can be enough motivation to show up.

According to investigative reports, he was attempting to molest his own children and their friends, he beat Gretchen to death with his fists when she wouldn’t participate in his “solo act”, he participated in the search for her, he lied during multiple police interviews, he presided over his victim’s funeral, he pretended to be a close friend of the family for years, and he moved around the country like someone who was evading consequences of continued pedophilia until newly revealed evidence cornered him 48 years later.
There’s no indication of a conscience.
