You probably aren’t familiar with my saga, but here’s a quick rundown. Before the election, I refused to support either Biden/Harris or Trump. I advocated for third-party candidates. It seems silly now, but just a couple of months ago, that was a HUGE no-no on Lemmy.

People started calling me a bot, a nazi, a nazi-progammed bot(!), a Russian troll. Some even created elaborate stories about me living in Russia and getting paid in rubles to post on Lemmy. It was crazy. LMAO

After hundreds of complaints about me and being mad that I was still around, one guy even wrote a program to track me and offered it to other people to track me on Lemmy (Hi @pooperNickel@lemm.ee https://lemm.ee/u/pooperNickel). He was, and still is, really really mad about me not voting for Harris.

Eventually, they banned me from the .world instance, and then made a post celebrating my "demise." On top of that, people took over the communities I founded and deleted all my posts. With great glee! lol

Later when asked about why I was banned, admins accused me of "harassing" DM's but, mysteriously when I ask for proof of these, the people in charge just say "It's private--we can't show you."

I say just show those to all of Lemmy and hide the identity of the receiver, and at least show us what I said that was so bad or what they consider "harassing".

The real reason they don't show proof? There is none. Because I never sent harrassing emails. LMAO

But the beauty of the fediverse is its freedom. I moved to other instances, ones less censor-heavy, but many followed me there too, trying to get me banned again.

To avoid losing all my communities at once, I diversified and spread my name across multiple instances, so they can’t silence me with one action.

I know this sounds exaggerated, but it’s not. Just last week, a new thread was started to ban me again. Here are the links to the main threads:

Luckily the admins took my side, saw the witchhunter-ry aspect of continually tracking me instead of just blocking me, and stood up for me.

But since I have such a passionate "Hate and Destroy Monk" following, I have to keep things spread out.

Actually, I'm a very boring guy born and raised here in the US. I've never even been out of the country. Was a teacher assistant in a middle school until I retired last month. :)

So thank the .world community for inspiring me to be EVERYWHERE now. They should have just ignored me. lol

Pics in case my links don't work. Just do a search for the titles in your search bar and it will bring them up to:

I have no clue why people keep putting up with all of these 70+ people making laws. I didn't vote for Biden or Trump.

I voted third party..and younger. No regrets.

I won't use it, but I will downvote any submission without question,

And that's totally your right. I respect your decision, even tho I disagree with it.

Thanks, amiko!

I watched a really great documentary about Esperanto. And I also watched the final episode of the series, Landman.

And I've been putting up bookshelves in my house, so in the background I have Kolchak, the Night Stalker series on. :)

Meh, I got in and out quick. I knew it would blow up, so I bailed when it went up to 3 times my investment. I was gonna hold off for more, but you never can tell when this stuff goes under.

So I made a little off of it and it was fun. But people def should know that it's just another form of gambling. Meme coins are ridiculous concept!

Thanks, amiko!

Sorry to hear you're going through that, friend. How old are you, if you don’t mind me asking?

When you're younger, loneliness can feel overwhelming, but as you get older, it tends to ease up naturally as you meet more people. I have a lot of friends, and my girlfriend is amazing, so I can't complain. But honestly, sometimes I wish I had fewer people around so I could focus more and get things done.

I’m not trying to downplay what you're dealing with—sometimes I even envy the quiet, since no one’s around to bother you!

I don’t have any solid advice, though. I'm a selfish prick, and I've always managed to have a pretty full social life. I have no idea what the solution is for ya.

But I'm glad you have Lemmy to at least share stuff with people.

US President-elect Donald Trump has launched his own cryptocurrency, appropriately called $TRUMP, sparking feverish buying that sent its market capitalization soaring on Saturday to several billion dollars.

In a message posted on his Truth Social platform and X, Trump unveiled the so-called meme coin, which is designed to capitalize on the popularity of a certain personality, movement or viral internet trend.

Meme coins have no economic or transactional value, and are often seen as a means of speculative trading.

“This Trump Meme celebrates a leader who doesn’t back down, no matter the odds,” says the coin’s official site, which makes reference to the assassination attempt against the Republican in July 2024.

In the hours following the overnight launch, the crypto community posed questions about the legitimacy of the $TRUMP coin, and its actual link to the president-elect, with some fearing a scam.

But the fact that the announcements came on Trump’s official social media channels seemed to reassure the market, as did the fact that Trump has used one of the companies behind the project, CIC Digital LLC, in the past to sell non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

By mid-morning on Saturday, the market capitalization for $TRUMP stood at nearly $6 billion.

Neither Trump nor the company managing the launch, Fight Fight Fight LLC, offered details about how much he made from the initial batch of meme coins released.

The coin’s official site said 200 million meme coins were issued, with Fight Fight Fight saying an additional 800 million would be added over the next three years.

At the current rate, the coins not yet on the market would be worth about $24 billion.

Initially opposed to cryptocurrency, Trump made a sharp about-face during his 2024 presidential campaign, becoming a champion of the concept and promising to develop the sector, notably by loosening regulations.

Before this new announcement, businessmen linked to Trump had in October put online a crypto platform called World Liberty Financial.
