I think Police unions need to be abolished. They're clearly corrupt. It should be brought to a vote because these guys should be going to prison for life over dumb shit like this.

They drew a gun on a shoplifter and killed a baby. How is this guy even allowed to sleep soundly at night?

You can experience a full Chinese holiday and the culture behind it in China. I don't understand dedicating a whole month to Chinese culture and what it's being to the table for Canada.

Bringing up old policies and treaties from over 100 years ago and acting like anyone alive today is negatively impacted by them is disingenuous.

One could also argue the exclusivity of the Chinese community in British Columbia that refuses to do business with anyone but Chinese nationals, like their exclusive taxi services.

There's a reason we don't have "German History Month" or "Australian Heritage Month." It has nothing to do with Canada and it's culture. If you're Chinese, and you move here, there is a distinct Chinese-Canadian culture you can go to. If you desire a more catered Chinese experience you can travel to China.

If the goal is education, there is no benefit to Chinese heritage that justifies Canada having an entire month dedicated to it.

This. Is. Dumb.

The more you know. I always thought faucet was used colloquially like "another faucet of information."

I stand corrected.

Absolutely. I voted for him but other than speeches, the most he's done is sold Canada to the highest bidder. This is becoming a theme with all wings of government.

That said, everyone knows Carney is a traditional moderate conservative. This doesn't excuse the liberal party for this since he represents them, but it does help us plebs understand the thought process behind Carney and "how he could betray us."

After the port sales, the abandoning of green energy deals, and everything else I'm starting to think we're just fucked lol.

Brian Goss has a fun way of saying "I hate Canada and I'm a far-right meathead."

That said, it's a mining company. I'm not surprised it's headed by literal idiots who show the mental onset of heavy metal poisoning.

I think the major issue here is just the presence of India and Israel. The Indian government carried out a hit against a Canadian on Canadian soil and as such shouldn't be allowed to do business in Canada, and Israel is currently committing genocide.

Usually I'm not a fan of protesters but come on, they're pretty justified here.

Just don't do business with hostile governments or war criminals. It's that simple.

I don't know if I like the use of the term "us" from the title of a news article. I get the author might be Canadian and obviously it affects them too but just report the news as a content delivery and not a way to create engagement.

That's why I've said "once you see it." I'm fully aware of vibe coding and I know it's useful to help speed things along and cut down development time.

I think I was more leaning towards assets than anything else, though I've seen people argue about mechanics and code, so I figured I'd include it.

Art, news articles, etc.

I feel like stories like these need more light than they're currently getting. The United States is free to do what they want and far be it from me to tell them what is morally correct as a Canadian, but more Canadians need to be aware that the US is a safe destination for day visits like shopping, but that's it.

I think someone said it in another thread that coercion isn't treason. Treason is VERY specific.

The problem isn't that most Canadians don't support buying locally, but the multitude of other reasons it's difficult such as deceptive labeling, lack of availability of home-grown options, deceptive retailers, and the expense where home-grown is often dramatically more expensive than a cheap Chinese/US has import.

In a Canada where your dollar has very limited buying power for the foreseeable future, the government needs to help heavily incentivise Canadian production and the distribution/cost offset of it.
