I am in a workplace where we can use a stat dec for sick leave, and we can also sign stat decs for each other, so having a certificate or not isn't really an issue I factor in!

This would be useful information if I did not loathe peas and therefore have no such thing in my house 😁 Fortunately I do have an actual cold pack instead.

Ice skating.

I made particular efforts to avoid all forms of team sports. I also sucked so badly at swimming I managed to fail a Girl Guide swimming badge.

I like the idea of pain relief as a concept, but I have developed an intolerance to codeine. I'm not sure what other options might be available, but I'm honestly a bit nervous about trying anything new in case of side effects - I took panadeine after my last tooth removal and ended up with agonising stomach pains. I think it gave me a bit of painkiller PTSD.

Op Shops seem to have stupid pricing these days. They have so much stuff being donated that they dont always even accept donations, and then instead of putting reasonable prices on things to sell quickly they mark it up so much it's often not worth buying.

I've also seen it more dramatically stated as "don't set yourself on fire to keep others warm ".

It comes up a lot on the caregiving Reddit sub, there are way too many people who are manipulated into prioritizing other people's needs above their own.

The Remuneration Tribunal that determines the wages of Victorian politicians has just released it's determination. The government which has a policy that govt. sector employees should have wage rises capped at 3% has just been awarded 3.5% raises for themselves.

It is a mystery. All I know is that generations of possums have been raised in my blocked off fireplace without drowning, and there is no sign of any moisture coming from the fireplace to the inside of the house. At this point I'm just assuming there is an invisible force field that keeps rain out but not possums.
