Hello comrades, I'm new to this and looking for resources to explain the fediverse to a dummy, hopefully with simplistic drawings. I understand it is essentially an "open source social media format" created for ease of moderation and to protect user data from corporate use, but I don't understand the concept of federation vs de federation of other social media site data.
I think Hakim has some videos on the USSR censorship. However as as an atheist myself I think suppression of religion is a good thing when does properly. In the USSR the suppression of of religion through their methods lead to the use of those religious individuals for right wing capitalist "resistance" and was a large reason for the decline into the current broken oligarchy..
