I am sick and tired of witnessesing history in our economic, ecological, and geo-political aspects of life, F1 could do without it.
Piastri has potential to be one of the greats, but at the moment his tyre management is below average. That, combined with how slow the McLaren in a straight line, he would not have finished in the top 5. Hopefully McLaren's new slim rear wing will work wonders in Monza.
I really don't understand the push for sprint races... They bring nothing to the table, and yet Dominicalli sell out for them for a quick buck. Everything F1 does in the last 5 years has been extremely short -sighted.
To be honest, apart from Kvyat, I don't feel bad for Gasly or Albon. Albon had 30ish races and was woeful and Gasly argued with Newey of all people. Red Bull got to do what they got to do, however, why Ricciardo and not a RB junior?
These type of statements can only backfire...
I perfectly understand what you're saying, but one had 40 races to adjust and one only 10, and to have so much difference is reactionist at least. I just don't get the hype behind Ricciardo in 2023.
Weren't people crying that Mick got replaced by Hulk after 2 years of not performing, but suddenly it's okay if a younger driver is replaced after 10 races by an underperforming veteran?
They didn't gamble at all. They don't have a slim wing upgrade, so if they used one, it would be too inefficient in terms of drag/downforce ratio. They have an upgrade planned for Monza obviously.
